Anger I love working with anger as I view it as a strong survival response which helps us persevere in the face of life's sometimes unfortunate and unpredictable outcomes. I have created a workshop for those experiencing anger management issues, explaining all aspects of anger, including how to deal with this complex emotion. Anger is a secondary emotion meaning there are other primary feelings which lie beneath it. I often explain this concept to children through the illustration of an iceberg with anger placed on the top. Underneath this iceberg resides such feelings as shame , fear, and pain, which I help clients to access and work through experientially. One tool which I have designed and named “Anger Busting" encourages the client to employ such concepts as such as behavior reduction and response prevention to manage their emotions when they are provoked. In addition, assertiveness techniques along with cognitive behavioral techniques offer clients more of a chance to manage their frustration in such a way that it ensures the likelihood of their being taken seriously, and having their needs met. I have also engaged many children in art and play activities involving their difficult emotions to teach them to deal with these more creatively.

Anger Management can be learnt - we will examine your triggers and how to recognise early signs. And most importantly, we will explore what the source is. Anger can be internal or expressed, and we will find ways to uncover and resolve the triggers, the feelings and ultimately find a way to understand the drivers.

Anger is a valid emotion, but when it starts to feel like it’s running the show or damaging your relationships, it’s time to pause and explore what’s underneath. Maybe you’ve been reacting in ways you don’t feel proud of, or bottling things up until they boil over. Either way, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad person, it means something deeper needs your attention.
In therapy, we’ll work together to understand your triggers, explore the root of your anger, and develop healthier ways to express and manage it. Our goal isn’t to get rid of anger, but to help you gain more control, self-awareness, and confidence in how you respond.
You deserve to feel heard, not ashamed, and we’re here to help you get there.
