Richmond, Virginia therapist: Tricia Mazza, counselor/therapist
Women's Issues

Tricia Mazza

Counselor/Therapist, LPC
I specialize in women’s issues, particularly for those who find themselves in confusing, one-sided, or emotionally manipulative relationships. Many of the women I work with are high-achieving and deeply empathetic, yet struggle with self-doubt, over-functioning, and difficulty trusting their own instincts. I help you make sense of patterns rooted in narcissistic dynamics, codependency, and family-of-origin experiences—especially for first-generation women carrying unspoken expectations. My approach is direct, insight-oriented, and active, combining emotional exploration with practical tools that support clear boundaries and lasting change. Together, we focus on helping you name what you’re experiencing so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of self.

Sarasota, Florida therapist: Gerry Letendre, hypnotherapist
Women's Issues

Gerry Letendre

Hypnotherapist, RPh, MBA, CHt
Women often juggle multiple roles and responsibilities while managing expectations related to work, family, relationships, and self-care. Over time, this can contribute to stress, anxiety, self-doubt, burnout, or feeling disconnected from one’s own needs. These challenges are often influenced by deeply ingrained patterns at a subconscious level. My approach to working with women’s issues is individualized and collaborative. Hypnosis provides a supportive space to address concerns such as anxiety, stress, confidence, self-esteem, life transitions, and emotional balance. Each session is tailored to the individual’s goals, experiences, and circumstances, allowing change to occur in a way that feels respectful and empowering. Clients often seek hypnosis during periods of transition, increased stress, or when long-standing patterns no longer serve them. Hypnosis offers a drug-free, complementary approach that helps clients remain aware and in control while developing greater calm, clarity, and confidence. This work is not a replacement for medical or mental health care, and I do not recommend changing prescribed medications without consulting a healthcare provider. When appropriate, hypnosis can be used alongside other professional support to help women feel more grounded, resilient, and connected to themselves.

Lynchburg, Virginia therapist: Nathan Duff, licensed professional counselor
Women's Issues

Nathan Duff

Licensed Professional Counselor, M.Ed., LPC (CCTP, CYMHS, C-DBT, C-PD)
I realize it might be a bit odd for a male therapist to select women's issues as a "specialty," and I did debate it for a bit. I have to say though, the bulk of my experience is with women and teen girls. Some of that has been due to some niche situations, such as my work with trauma (I'm certified in trauma - CCTP) which has brought me many female survivors, teens and adults, of female sexual predators, who seem to find my being male somewhat helpful. Also 10 years providing and supervising crisis services has had me working with everything from domestic violence to post-partum suicidality, agoraphobia, self-worth and identity issues, as well as many other things that disproportionately affect women. I completely understand why some women may feel more comfortable with a female therapist, since I can't share their lived experiences in the same way. However, I hope my commitment to learning, and listening, has given me a deeper understanding of the emotional complexities many women face. I’ve found that working collaboratively with clients allows us to navigate sensitive issues together, making the process more about mutual understanding than assumptions based on gender.

Chicago, Illinois therapist: Emily Blitz, psychologist
Women's Issues

Emily Blitz

Psychologist, PsyD
Women’s experiences are often shaped by complex layers of early relationships, internalized expectations, and relational patterns that influence identity, self-worth, and connection. As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) clinician, I have extensive experience supporting women across life stages. My work draws on private practice, a full-time clinical internship at a transitional housing program for formerly incarcerated women, and a background in women’s studies, allowing me to approach each woman’s experience with understanding, empathy, and attention to both emotional and relational well-being. In our work, we explore these dynamics in a supportive, reflective space, attending to both conscious feelings and the unconscious processes that may influence us. Approached with curiosity and respect, this work can foster deeper self-understanding, emotional integration, and a stronger sense of agency in your life.

Caring for women has been a life calling for me. Spending 14 years at the bedside of women in OB/GYN affords me the life experiences of what women have shared with me in a vulnerable setting over the years. The last 3 years of my career have focused on the mental health portion of some of these topics, and my knowledge of hormones, the menstrual cycle, and reproductive organs has proven to be an invaluable asset in this field.
