I love working with people online and the freedom it gives. It is not for everyone but in my experience most people are able to use the sessions just as well if not better than in person sessions. Most people enjoy the freedom online work gives them: we can connect from anywhere and it saves travel time.

The benefits of online therapy including being able to meet in any convenient location e.g. home, office, or even your car, and you don't have to factor travel time into your day. I've been working with clients online since 2013, and technology keeps improving, so these days I rarely find that tech glitches interfere with a session. The online platform works very well and my clients are happy.

When you can’t meet in the room for any reason, online therapy is an effective way to work on yourself, providing you have a private space, where you won’t be overheard or interrupted. Headphones may help too, to keep the conversation confidential. I use Zoom which is a secure and encrypted platform for us to meet. Once we’ve agreed a time to meet online, I’ll send you an invite via email. All you need do is click on the sent link to join the session. You’ll sit in a virtual waiting room and from there, I’ll admit you. I’m looking forward to meeting you soon.

Karine Flynn

Psychologist, MSc, GMBPS
Online sessions are available globally for individuals who are ready to work at depth, regardless of where they are in the world. Many people assume somatic work requires being in the same room. In practice, the most important conditions for this work - safety, precision, and a regulated therapeutic relationship - translate fully to online. Preparation sessions, integration sessions, and the continuous support woven through the Somatic Release Intensive are all delivered online as standard. For clients based in London, release sessions can be delivered in person at your location, making the full programme available without requiring travel to Hertfordshire. If you've been waiting for the right specialist rather than the nearest one, location need not be the deciding factor.

Chichester, England therapist: Candida Stevens - Therapist & Coach, registered psychotherapist
Senior

Candida Stevens - Therapist & Coach

Registered Psychotherapist, MHGI, MSc, CBT-I
I work with adults and young people who are outwardly capable but internally exhausted, stuck, or struggling to sustain confidence, focus, or good sleep. Many of the people I support are navigating burnout, life transitions, ADHD-related challenges, or a sense that their nervous system is simply under too much strain. My approach is integrative and tailored. With training in both psychotherapy and coaching, I am able to adjust the balance of our work depending on what you need most — whether that is practical structure, emotional support, skills for regulation, or help creating meaningful change. Sessions are thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice, while remaining responsive to you as a whole person rather than a single issue. Sleep is a central pillar of wellbeing and often underlies difficulties with mood, resilience, concentration, and confidence. Where appropriate, I work with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), alongside broader nervous-system and behavioural approaches. I also draw on evidence-based methods for emotional regulation and decision-making, particularly when working with ADHD or periods of overwhelm. I work primarily with adults and also support adolescents and young adults. I hold an enhanced DBS check. People often come to this work wanting clarity, steadiness, and a way forward that feels both realistic and sustainable. My role is to help you understand what is happening beneath the surface and to support you in making changes that genuinely fit your life.

Video counselling offers a secure and convenient alternative to in-person sessions. It allows you to connect with your therapist face-to-face through a private video platform, from the comfort of your own space. This option can be especially helpful if you have a busy schedule, live outside our local area, or prefer the flexibility of meeting without the need to travel. It also provides continuity of care when in-person sessions wouldn't be an option. Many clients find video sessions just as effective and meaningful as in-person therapy.

Newport is Wales's third city and a post-industrial community shaped by the decline of its steel and coal industries, now developing as a logistics and distribution hub given its position at the Severn Crossing with close links to Bristol and Cardiff. The city's significant South Asian and East African communities drive growing demand for multilingual and culturally affirming therapists alongside a predominantly Welsh working-class population. Aneurin Bevan University Health Board provides NHS mental health services, with a private therapy community developing alongside the city's gradual economic regeneration. Newport's proximity to Cardiff and Bristol means residents can access specialist care in neighboring cities, and local therapy provision has expanded alongside recent population and economic growth.
