When anyone experiences loss or grief, it can be perplexing to navigate. It feels overwhelming as if it will never end. Every loss is unique. Everyone deals with loss differently. So therapy should be different and unique for each person as well. We work to make sure you are not alone in your grief, to walk with you through it, and address the specific needs you have. Grief and Loss Therapy enables you to connect with yourself, honor the loss you’ve experienced, and move through the loss or grief in a deep meaningful way.

I work with clients who have experience death and non-death related loss, including friendships, relationships, ambiguous (e.g. loved one with dementia), and pets. There is really no way to fully prepare for death; less so when loss is sudden and unexpected. Many people feel a range of emotions - and those emotions may change over time or even moment by moment: shock, confusion, anger, denial, relief, emptiness, deep sadness, loneliness, isolation, fatigue, just to name a few. Sometimes loss is missing someone dear to us, and sometimes loss is more complicated. There is no correct way to grieve. But we can look at the ways in which our own minds can increase our suffering so that we can learn to be with grief and loss in a way that allows fully honoring our experiences, as well as taking steps forward in your life in a way that is in line with your chosen values. I offer a safe place where is OK to feel your feelings, however messy or confusing. I also will be on your journey to help you find rituals for honoring your loss that are special to you and your unique relationship with who you have lost.

A loss occurs within any change in our lives. Even a good change equals a loss and it needs to be acknowledged and grieved. This may be a life change or and actual death of someone we love.
