Asheville, North Carolina therapist: Christopher Cannon, counselor/therapist
MI

Christopher Cannon

Counselor/Therapist, LPC, CAS, SEP
If you’ve done years of talk therapy and still find yourself stuck in the same patterns, part of the story may be held in your body. As a licensed counselor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I work directly with the nervous system, helping you notice what’s happening physically in the moment and giving old survival responses room to settle and finish. I came to this work through my own developmental trauma, addiction, and depression. That history helps me meet people struggling with alcohol, drugs, or pornography without judgment, whether you’re aiming for abstinence or harm reduction. I hold a Colorado Certified Addiction Specialist credential and have been in practice since 2014. I also work with complex PTSD, adoptee struggles, and couples, drawing on PACT and attachment-based approaches. More than twenty years of meditation and a master’s in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University inform everything I do, so spiritual questions are welcome. Expect warmth, curiosity, and some dry humor. Online therapy is available to Colorado residents. Clients outside Colorado can work with me through somatic coaching by video. Private pay, superbills available, free consultation.

I believe that everyone can reach their potential and the happiness they deserve, but we all need help along the way. I utilize a collaborative approach to face these challenges as a team. I began my career by working with children in foster care for several years in multiple settings. I eventually joined The Home for Little Wanderers for my final doctoral internship, a child welfare agency in the impoverished areas of Boston. I stayed with the Home for 8 years, focusing on psychotherapy, treatment team/service management and coordination, and emergency management. I entered private practice in 2017, working for Collaborations in Clinical Care in Canton, MA. I then moved to North Carolina in 2021, and I currently work in Apex center.

Durham, North Carolina therapist: Bobby Newell, licensed clinical social worker
MI

Bobby Newell

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, SEP
A little about me I’m a therapist who gets how overwhelming this stage of life can feel. You’re juggling pressure, expectations, relationships, and figuring out who you are—all at the same time. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, and I’m not here to judge or “analyze” you. My style is real, collaborative, and practical. I’ll help you understand what’s happening in your mind and body, and give you tools you can actually use in everyday life—not just in a therapy session. Why reach out If you’re tired of overthinking everything, feeling stuck, or reacting in ways you wish you could change, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Reaching out is the first step toward feeling more grounded, more confident, and more in control of your life. Even if you’re not sure where to start—that’s okay. We’ll figure it out together.

Wilmington, North Carolina therapist: Kelli Hall, licensed clinical social worker
MI

Kelli Hall

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
I’m a multi-state licensed clinical social worker who is deeply passionate about helping people build healthier, more authentic relationships—starting with the relationship they have with themselves. In my work, I often support individuals who have spent much of their lives over-accommodating, over-functioning, or feeling responsible for others. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to prioritize their own needs without guilt. They may feel chronically anxious, depressed, or worried. My style is warm, direct, and grounded. I’m not a “just sit and nod” therapist—I’m actively engaged in helping you understand patterns, shift perspective, and develop practical tools you can use in real life. I believe you don’t HAVE TO do anything - but you do GET to choose. And learning how to make those choices with clarity and confidence can be incredibly freeing.
