Christopher Cannon

Counselor/Therapist, LPC, CAS, SEP
If you’ve done years of talk therapy and still find yourself stuck in the same patterns, part of the story may be held in your body. As a licensed counselor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I work directly with the nervous system, helping you notice what’s happening physically in the moment and giving old survival responses room to settle and finish. I came to this work through my own developmental trauma, addiction, and depression. That history helps me meet people struggling with alcohol, drugs, or pornography without judgment, whether you’re aiming for abstinence or harm reduction. I hold a Colorado Certified Addiction Specialist credential and have been in practice since 2014. I also work with complex PTSD, adoptee struggles, and couples, drawing on PACT and attachment-based approaches. More than twenty years of meditation and a master’s in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University inform everything I do, so spiritual questions are welcome. Expect warmth, curiosity, and some dry humor. Online therapy is available to Colorado residents. Clients outside Colorado can work with me through somatic coaching by video. Private pay, superbills available, free consultation.

Dr. Cierra Listermann

Psychologist, Ph.D., HSP-P
I'm currently accepting a limited number of new clients, with priority availability for CPT Intensives. I became a psychologist because I believe people deserve more than simply learning how to cope with what hurts. They deserve the opportunity to heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. My work is centered around helping adults virtually across North Carolina who have experienced trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD, and difficult life experiences understand themselves with greater compassion and move toward the life they want to create and experience living. My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel truly seen and understood while also having a psychologist who can provide the knowledge, structure, and guidance needed to support meaningful change. I specialize in helping clients work through the lasting effects of traumatic experiences, including PTSD, complex trauma (C-PTSD), anxiety, depression, grief, burnout and chronic stress, and major life transitions. I use evidence-based approaches that are proven to work while honoring that every person’s healing process looks different. Your experiences, your goals, and your chosen pace matter. I believe therapy works best when it is a partnership. My role is not to tell you who to become, but to help you better understand yourself, challenge the beliefs that may be holding you back, and build the confidence and skills to move forward. Your story is uniquely your own—your therapy should be too.

Karen Erikson, PhD, Durham DBT, Inc.

Psychologist, PhD
I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist (CBT), and I have expertise in the use of mindfulness-based treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and the treatment of trauma. DBT is a form of CBT that focuses on teaching clients to better regulate their emotions. Our clients often talk about feeling like their emotions "run the show." Our treatment goals are often about helping clients to feel that they can control their emotions, rather than their emotions controlling them. I see a wide variety of clients in my practice, including individuals struggling with symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD), depression, and anxiety disorders. I also work with survivors of trauma, including physical and sexual abuse and assault. I believe that effective treatment begins with a collaborative relationship with my clients. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, and joined Durham DBT after completing my clinical internship at Duke University Medical Center. I am also credentialed through PSYPACT, which allows me to provide virtual services in participating states. I have extensive training in evidenced-based therapy and in clinical research.
