I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood, respected, and able to be yourself. My style is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative, with space for both reflection and honest conversation. I don’t see people as problems to be fixed; I’m interested in understanding how your experiences have shaped the ways you protect yourself, relate to others, and move through the world. Together, we can slow things down, notice what’s happening beneath the surface, and make room for changes that feel meaningful and sustainable. I bring mindfulness, somatic awareness, and parts work into sessions, while adapting the process to who you are and what feels most useful to you.

Treatment Approach
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in mindfulness, somatic awareness, and parts work. I help clients slow down, notice what is happening beneath the surface, and understand the patterns that shape how they relate to themselves and others. Rather than pushing for quick fixes, I focus on creating a safe, respectful space where change can happen at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful.

I offer online counselling for adults who are dealing with anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-criticism, emotional overwhelm, or patterns that seem to keep repeating even when they understand where those patterns come from. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and self-aware, but find that insight alone hasn't been enough to create the kind of change they want. They may be used to holding things together for others, avoiding conflict, pushing through difficult emotions, or putting their own needs aside until they feel exhausted or disconnected from themselves.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that our ways of coping often developed for understandable reasons. Rather than treating parts of yourself as problems to eliminate, we can become curious about what those patterns are protecting, where they came from, and whether they still serve you in the same way today. This can be especially helpful when you find yourself caught between knowing what you want intellectually and feeling unable to respond differently in the moment.
I draw from mindfulness, somatic awareness, and parts-oriented approaches to help you notice what is happening not only in your thoughts, but also in your emotions, body, and nervous system. Therapy may involve slowing down enough to recognize patterns as they arise, exploring the experiences that shaped them, and developing a more compassionate and flexible relationship with yourself. I don't believe therapy needs to follow a rigid formula or timeline, and I adapt the work to your personality, needs, and comfort level.
I also have a particular interest in working with people who have learned to hide their sensitivity or vulnerability in order to feel safe, accepted, or in control. This can include men who want a space where they can speak openly without feeling judged or pressured to perform, as well as women who want to know that working with a male therapist can feel respectful, emotionally safe, and collaborative.
My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and create more room for choice. Over time, therapy can help you feel less driven by old fears, expectations, and relationship patterns, and more able to respond to your life from a place that feels grounded, connected, and genuinely your own.
Sessions are offered online, providing a private and convenient way to access therapy from your own space. I currently work with adult clients across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Newfoundland & Labrador. If you are considering therapy and would like to get a sense of whether we might work well together, I offer a free 15-minute consultation before booking a full session.
