Treatment Approach
- Hypnotherapy Uses guided relaxation and focus to access the subconscious mind. It is often used for habits, anxiety, and pain management.
Approach Description: My work is grounded in mindfulness-based counselling hypnotherapy and integrates emotional, mental, physical, and subconscious processes to support meaningful, lasting change. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we work with the underlying emotional patterns, belief systems, habits, and behaviours that contribute to unwanted present-day reactions and ongoing challenges.
Sessions include emotionally focused exploration of past experiences, remembered events, and learned responses that clients want to change because they continue to influence present-day perceptions, reactions, and ways of relating to the world. The focus is always on what’s relevant now and how these patterns can be shifted safely and intentionally.
When hypnotherapy is used, it is experienced much like a relaxed daydream or guided meditation — with a clear therapeutic intention and gentle direction to support change. Clients remain aware, present, and in control throughout the process. This type of imagined, felt experience communicates directly with the subconscious mind, which responds to emotion, sensation, imagery, and meaning rather than rational thought.
Through this process, outdated internal responses can be updated, and new intentions are not only understood but felt. Having this experience — even in imagination — helps the nervous system and subconscious become familiar with the change, making it easier to respond differently in real-life situations moving forward.
Therapy is supported by a structured mindfulness-based audio program to help integrate the work into daily life between sessions, supporting continuity and momentum.
