I believe everyone can benefit from working with a therapist. It provides an opportunity to talk openly and confidentially with someone whose sole intent is to form an alliance with you, for your wellbeing, but also to be able to witness your pain while in safe connection. I hope to guide you through any personal pain or suffering you may be experiencing and to help you gain clarity around your thoughts, emotions and to understand your life and experiences from a different perspective. I teach clients how to be with and process their emotions and to recognize nervous system dysregulation, negative thought patterns and potential trauma responses. Compassionately, we can look at trauma responses and other adaptive coping mechanisms as your psyche's way of protecting you. From that place, we might be able to heal and process emotional responses and choose new ways of behaving and thinking.

Client Focus

Session Format: Individual sessions.
Age Specialty: Adult, Young Adult

Treatment Approach

  • Art Therapy Uses creative activities like drawing, painting, or sculpture as a way to express emotions. It is especially helpful when words are hard to find.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
  • Transactional Analysis Explores interactions through the lens of Parent, Adult, and Child roles. It aims to improve communication and self-awareness.
Approach Description: I encourage a collaborative and creative process between client and therapist; one that engages all aspects of the Self so that relief will be experienced on emotional, physical, and spiritual planes. In our partnership, I begin by learning about you and gaining an empathic understanding of what factors have contributed to both your current mental/emotional state and the deeper patterns at play. I am committed to supporting you as you explore and dissect these patterns and create a personal action plan towards positive and sustainable choices. I encourage self-reflection and might challenge you to notice your ‘blind spots’ (for example, how you might be contributing to your suffering by falling into old patterns) and I promote self-acceptance and accountability. I’m happy to offer a free phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit and to help get us started.
