I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood, respected, and able to be yourself. My style is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative, with space for both reflection and honest conversation. I don’t see people as problems to be fixed; I’m interested in understanding how your experiences have shaped the ways you protect yourself, relate to others, and move through the world. Together, we can slow things down, notice what’s happening beneath the surface, and make room for changes that feel meaningful and sustainable. I bring mindfulness, somatic awareness, and parts work into sessions, while adapting the process to who you are and what feels most useful to you.

Treatment Approach
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in mindfulness, somatic awareness, and parts work. I help clients slow down, notice what is happening beneath the surface, and understand the patterns that shape how they relate to themselves and others. Rather than pushing for quick fixes, I focus on creating a safe, respectful space where change can happen at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful.

I offer online counselling for overthinkers, perfectionists, and people-pleasers navigating anxiety, self-criticism, trauma, or relationship difficulties. You may spend a lot of time in your head, expect a lot of yourself, or find it hard to disappoint others. Perhaps you understand where these patterns come from, but still struggle to respond differently when it matters. You may be used to holding things together, avoiding conflict, or putting your own needs aside until you feel exhausted or disconnected.
My approach is collaborative and compassionate. I believe the ways we cope often developed for understandable reasons. Together, we can become curious about what these patterns are protecting, how they began, and what you need now. Even the parts of yourself you find frustrating deserve to be understood. There’s room to explore them without making yourself another problem to solve.
I draw on mindfulness, somatic awareness, and parts work to explore what happens in your thoughts, emotions, and body. We might notice the self-criticism that follows a mistake, the tension that comes with saying no, or the pull to keep someone else happy. We can explore the experiences that shaped these responses and gradually make room for different choices. The work follows your needs and comfort level, with time to build trust and find what helps.
I also welcome people who have learned to hide their sensitivity or vulnerability to feel safe or accepted. I work with men who want space to speak openly without pressure to appear strong or have everything figured out, and women for whom trust and safety with a male therapist are important considerations. You can tell me what feels comfortable, what feels difficult, and what you need from our work together.
My hope is that therapy helps you develop a kinder relationship with yourself and more ease with others. That might mean setting a boundary with less guilt, allowing yourself to make a mistake, asking for support, or feeling more connected to what you want. You don’t need clear goals or a polished explanation to begin. We can start with what feels difficult now.
I offer online sessions for adults across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Newfoundland & Labrador. If you’d like to get a sense of working together, I offer a free 15-minute consultation before booking a full session.
