I have found the technology enables clients to be able to engage in sessions from the comfort of their own home or location of their choosing. I do all of the same dynamic practices in sessions online, whether that be teaching breathwork, visualization or embodiment movement techniques. I use the chat function to give the client links for resources or other recommendations. The platform I use is Simple Practice which has an app that can be used on mobile devices as well as a desktop version. It provides a secure, HIPAA compliant videochat platform which is very easy to use.
I am an out of network therapist so clients pay me directly and then I provide a superbill which can be used to obtain insurance reimbursement if you are eligible for it based on your policy. I also provide clients a service called Reimbursify where they can submit a request to find out how much their insurance will cover and it can also be used to submit claims directly to your insurance company. If you have any issues with the insurance company Reimbursify can assist in getting information.
