Adolescents and adults navigating their faith and sexuality (LGBTQ+ affirming), anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, grief, trauma, pregnancy/postpartum, family of origin concerns, identity development, and general life stressors and transitions would particular enjoy working with me. Multicultural couples and families navigating culture clashes, estrangement, faith transitions, and sexual and intergenerational trauma, especially for BIPOC populations, are treatment specialties. Psychedelic psychotherapy preparation and integration are also available with referrals to clinics and others who can provide medication administration. Psychological assessment to clarify diagnoses such as autism, bipolar disorder, ADHD, etc., Independent Medical Evaluations (IME), worker’s compensation, preemployment for first responders, and fitness-for-duty-evaluations are also offered. Approaching patients with cultural humility is a core value at Malak Psychology honoring who you are, your ancestors, and the indigenous land we occupy. Grounded in decolonizing mental health, liberation, and feminist psychologies, my practice employs multimodal approaches, including dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, cognitive processing therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, somatic experiencing, emotionally focused couples therapy, Gottman, family systems, psychoanalysis, and more. Empowering you to forge your unique path, I serve as a guide with an emphasis on agency and self-determination. Collaborative wellness plans allow participants to decide the depth of exploration into subjects. Molly Halbrooks

Counselor/Therapist, LMFT
Good therapy is a partnership between you and your therapist. If you're ready to finally figure out why you've been struggling and do something about it, then you bring the expertise on your own life, experiences, and needs, and I'll bring evidence-based training, clinical experience, and a safe space to hold your hardest moments. I have deep respect for the individuals I work with, and am consistently amazed by the level of vulnerability, insight, and growth they are able to achieve when we work together in this way. You are a unique individual with unique life experiences and I meet you right where you are and work with you to determine how to move forward as your healthiest, most fulfilled self. Most clients find virtual therapy to be the same or better than in person therapy. Virtual sessions allow you to easily work around your job commitments or childcare, and by eliminating the commute it is easier to find the time to have sessions. You have the convenience of working with a fully licensed, highly trained therapist in your home or office, and by using secure video chatting you are still able to maintain confidentiality and the visual experience of being in person. After the initial assessment, if virtual therapy is not the right fit for you, we will help you find an in-person option.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania therapist: Dan Walinsky, psychologist
Feminist

Dan Walinsky

Psychologist, PhD
Online therapy is such a wonderful opportunity to do deep and powerful therapeutic work in a way that is both convenient and secure. I want all my clients, online and in person, to feel the same warmth and compassion as we work through situations and experiences. In much of the same way that we do in person, my online work is based around building a supportive therapeutic relationship. In therapy, potential for healing and growth occurs through through the relationship that we build together. I really enjoy working with clients who are trying to figure out how to manage or explore the difficult feelings – sometimes anxiety and depression - that can emerge during self-exploration, identity development, life changes, working on relationship issues among monogamous and poly/ENM/CNM people, career or work shifts, LGBTQIA+ clients, and so much more. Work with me often involves exploring patterns, looking at the imprints of families of origin, and addressing ways in which those long past experiences come up in the present.

Open Hearted Holistic Therapy

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
I believe that at our heart each and everyone of us is good. I believe that we are all doing the best that we can no matter what that looks like. Somewhere along the line we get convinced that we are lazy or bad or not trying hard enough and just believing that about ourselves really gets in our way. I want to help people see themselves the way I see them.

Telehealth psychology support for life adjustments, trauma, relationships, and body issues. With technology, you can experience all the benefits of in-person therapy in the comfort and privacy of your own home and have continuity of care when you travel. It can be especially helpful to those who find it challenging to travel to an office for appointments due to location, work, children at home, lifestyle, or other practical or personal reasons. You may be located abroad or be a professional who travels, telehealth allows you to get the support and resources and meet you where your life is at. While there are multiple ways that counseling can take place online, I work primarily with face-to-face video conferencing via Zoom and, on occasion, telephone sessions. I always hold my sessions in a quiet and confidential space, giving you the same confidentiality & professionalism that you experience within an office setting. Most, if not all, of my clients, find virtual sessions to be highly effective and convenient. They allow for the comfort and safety of therapy in your own space, and no travel time is often less vulnerable than needing to go to an office. Research of multiple studies finds that online therapy is equally effective as in-person for most cases. That being said I always advocate for what works best for each individual and it is wonderful to have choices to find your best path whichever that may be. If you are not tech-savvy or anxious about using technology, I'll make it as seamless as possible. I have chosen a platform that is easy to use, and I am happy to assist you with any questions or concerns. A common concern I hear from clients regarding online therapy is finding a quiet and/or confidential space when you’re homebound with children, and/or family members or roommates. Please plan this out in advance so you have quiet and privacy during your session. Since it is so convenient many times people forget to allow themselves a few minutes to "switch hats" and allow themselves a few breaths and get settled into being present and in the head/body space for your session. Headphones or AirPods can often make audio clearer or provide more privacy, but are not necessary. Given that video sessions can be conducted on your smartphone, clients have found it helpful to go to a park, connect from wherever you may be, and/or walk around your neighborhood. Get creative and support yourself. Find a private space that allows you to receive support no matter where you are. You are welcome to have pets join your space if you find that comforting and supporting, and you may see my fellow feline/canine therapists join in one of our sessions on my end.

Since the pandemic shook our world and the experience of how we connect with others, I have been practicing remotely. For many clients with busy lives, online therapy reduces the obstacles of travel, traffic, and parking, and provides a simple way of managing billing/payment.
