Bethesda, Maryland therapist: Monica Grey, counselor/therapist
Women's Issues

Monica Grey

Counselor/Therapist, LCPC
Women often navigate a unique set of pressures — balancing career ambitions with family expectations, managing the mental load of caregiving, dealing with identity shifts through major life transitions, or simply feeling like they have to hold everything together for everyone else. I work with women who are ready to stop putting themselves last and start addressing the anxiety, stress, and exhaustion that come with carrying it all. As a Latina clinician, I also understand the cultural layers that can make it harder to ask for help. Our sessions are a space to be honest about what's not working and to build strategies that actually fit your life — not someone else's idea of what your life should look like.

The world has a lot of "rules" for women - how we should act, speak, dress, work, love, and show up in everyday life. And sometimes, we're so steeped in these messages that it becomes hard to even know what we believe anymore. Whether you're feeling unsure about what you're looking for in a relationship, having trouble asserting yourself at work, experiencing challenges related to physical stressors, or dealing with other people in your life who think you 'should' be doing something differently - I can help. Starting therapy can be anxiety-provoking at times, which is why I offer free consultations to all prospective clients. You can book a free 20 minute phone call directly on my website, and I'll reach out to you right away to confirm. We can chat about what you're looking for support with AND make sure everything feels like a good fit before scheduling an intake. I can't wait to connect with you!

Crofton, Maryland therapist: Beth Janis, psychologist
Women's Issues

Beth Janis

Psychologist, Ph.D.
Being a woman in this day and age can bring so many different layers of challenge and difficulty. In our work together, we can walk through the different issues that you are facing while deepening insight into the strategies you've developed throughout your life to adapt to life's demands. While these strategies were often necessary in the moment, they sometimes just don't work so well for us as time goes on or as the situation changes. Our sessions focus on building insight into your patterns, the messages/beliefs you may hold about yourself and others, and strategies to help you take the steps that are meaningful to you.

Coral Gables, Florida therapist: Dr Todd Giardina, psychologist
Women's Issues

Dr Todd Giardina

Psychologist, PhD, Counseling Psychology
I feel it is different speaking to a male therapist about women's issues, specifically in that you then have to explain yourself more deeply. I cannot simply say "yes, I get it." By sharing the female experience aloud, it forces us to examine the difficulties and complexities from a different lens. I can offer more traditionally "masculine" viewpoints that can shift the way you approach or think about certain problems. So many women struggle with relationships with men in their life (Fathers, partners), that having a different type of open and supportive conversation with a man can be transformative. And, when there is distress in those relationships, we can role play and practice how the communication could go differently next time.
