When we experience dysfunction and abuse as a child it creates confusion about who we are and we often believe we must be flawed in some way. We want to belong and be accepted so we fall in people pleasing behaviours and often codependency where a lack of boundaries allows others to take advantage of us. A lack of confidence in who we are causes us to hold back and never accomplish a full and purposeful life.
