Jessica Torres Kreidt
Counselor/Therapist, LPCC, NCC, CCTP (CA: LPCC#17935)
With training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I specialize in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma. This work is a true passion of mine, and I am committed to walking alongside my clients on their journey toward healing. I use evidence-based therapies and grounding techniques to help clients manage distressing symptoms, stay connected to the present moment, and build resilience.
My work in trauma began at the YWCA Hope Center, a local rape crisis and domestic violence center, where I provided legal advocacy to individuals in some of the most challenging circumstances. I later gained valuable experience in case management, supporting individuals facing homelessness and significant life barriers. These experiences have profoundly shaped my compassionate and client-centered approach.
I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients can reclaim their sense of safety, strength, and well-being as they work toward healing and growth.

Aaron Kapin
Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, SEP, LMT
From the perspective of Somatic Experiencing, trauma isn't the thing that happened 15 years ago (or last week), it's the ongoing effects that that incident continues to have on your body.
We can work together to figure out how your body is still reacting to that incident, and work to help your body 'catch up' to the present moment. If you're safer now than you were then, there are ways we can help your body 'complete' the threat response from so long ago, and land in the comparative safety of the present moment.
I can't treat PTSD, so if you've been diagnosed with PTSD you should still work with a licensed mental health professional, even as you work with me. What I can do is support your body in turning down the volume on that threatened feeling that has been coming up since the trauma-inducing events.

Philadelphia Couples Therapy
Psychologist, PsyD
Trauma manifests in a myriad of ways in our minds and bodies. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can result from experiencing or witnessing a life threatening event or significant loss, whereas complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) may result from chronic abuse, neglect or other forms of mistreatment that happened repeatedly over a period of time. These experiences of intense fear make an imprint on the nervous system, impacting our physical and emotional responses to our partners, children, families, friends, and colleagues. Often our inclination is to avoid, ignore or push through these traumas in an effort to minimize the associated pain. However these efforts are futile as unresolved traumas create invisible barriers that hinder the development of a strong sense of self and healthy relationships.
In romantic relationships, trauma can disrupt our ability to trust, to feel safe emotionally and physically, and can interfere with the enjoyment of sex and intimacy. These impacts of trauma may ebb and flow over time, intensifying during big life transitions and resurfacing as we age. Whether you are seeking individual or couples therapy, the therapists at PCT create a trauma-informed space to process trauma, understand its impacts on your relationships and build coping skills to move forward. We are patient and emphasize building a trusting relationship together. Therapists at PCT understand that healing from trauma takes time and progress may not always be linear, but that this work leads to healthier relationships and a stronger sense of self-worth.

Inner World Counseling Services PLLC
Licensed Professional Counselor, LPCC
This is the big one—your absolute core specialty. For Trauma and PTSD, we want this description to be the definitive statement of your clinical expertise. It should speak directly to the reality of living with a dysregulated nervous system, Complex PTSD (CPTSD), and the survival habits (like over-functioning and fawning) that people develop just to get through the day.
Here are a few options that firmly establish your expertise and highlight your evidence-based tools:
Option 1: Full-Spectrum & Root-Cause Focused (Recommended)
"I specialize in helping adults heal from the profound, lasting impacts of trauma, PTSD, and Complex PTSD (CPTSD). Trauma fundamentally alters how your nervous system perceives safety, often leaving you trapped in a state of high alert, struggling with intrusive thoughts, or dealing with a relentless inner critic. I look beyond surface-level symptoms to address the root causes of your distress. Utilizing gold-standard, evidence-based trauma modalities—including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)—I provide a highly specialized, structured, yet deeply compassionate space. Together, we will gently process painful past experiences, dismantle the survival habits that keep you stuck, and help your brain and body finally find a true, lasting sense of safety

Anyone who has experienced trauma knows that it isn't something you just "get over". Trauma impacts our nervous system, relationships and decision making. This is especially true for people who experienced complex or developmental trauma in their childhood through emotional, physical, sexual, spiritual or financial abuse as well as neglect. It can take decades to undo the damage done and learn what we were supposed to learn as childhood in our adulthood. The time and effort is ALWAYS worth it!

Trauma Therapy Company Ohio
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
When the past does not want to stay in the past and it feels like the same crap that happened to you in your childhood are still going on today. You may want the pain to end and try to pretend like it did not happen. You could be throwing yourself into family, work or relationships, trying to keep yourself busy so you do not have to think about it. This can cause anxiety and pressure that exhausts you till you crash or sink into depression. Between your life and mind, you may not even know how to calm down or think you don’t deserve it. Over time you may feel like you’re running on a hamster wheel and although around people and family, feel all alone. Your body is a stranger and your mind is the enemy.
Most therapies try to change how you think so that you won’t feel so anxious or depressed anymore. When I was learning these techniques, it didn’t seem to fit for me because I believe it, so how are they going to change it. It really seems like “fake it till you make it.” As a client in treatment, it made me feel like I was invalidated. For example, I don’t feel safe because of what happened to me and you’re telling me that I should feel safe and I should tell myself that I feel safe even though I’m not. That was not going to work for me and probably not you either.
EMDR is a different kind of therapy where the experiences that you have had take the spotlight. The things that we’ve been through create how we see everything else. I feel unsafe because I’ve been through things that hurt me. So we look at those times that you have been hurt and use the whole body to digest these memories so that they feel like they’re no longer happening right now

Dayna Nelson, PsyD, LP
Psychologist, PsyD, Licensed Psychologist
EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy and uses a technique called bilateral stimulation to repeatedly activate opposite sides of the brain. Dr Nelson uses EMDR to facilitate the bilateral stimulation. EMDR seems to help the brain reprocess the trapped memories is such a way that normal information processing is resumed. Dr. Nelson uses EMDR to help clients uncover and process beliefs that developed as the result of relational traumas, or childhood abuse and/or neglect

Betrayal Trauma cam present with symptoms similar to PTSD - intrusive thoughts, hypervigilance, emotional flooding, sleep disruption, anxiety, and difficulty feeling safe. When trust has been shattered through infidelity, sexual addiction, or chronic deception, the nervous system often remains in a prolonged state of threat response.
I specialize in trauma-informed, partner-sensitive care that focuses first on stabilization and nervous system regulation before deeper processing. My work helps clients understand their trauma responses, reduce symptom intensity, establish protective boundaries, and regain a sense of internal safety. Healing is possibly when trauma is acknowledged and treated with informed, compassionate support.
