Licensed Clinical Social Worker, MSW, RSW, Psychotherapist
As a psychotherapist, I chose to work with anxiety because I recognize the tremendous impact it can have on a person's life. Anxiety can manifest in many different ways, from persistent worry and fear to panic attacks and social anxiety. It can also be a symptom of other underlying mental health issues. I believe that by helping individuals understand and manage their anxiety, they can achieve a greater sense of control and improve their overall well-being. Through therapy, I work collaboratively with my clients to understand the roots of the difficulties, and develop coping skills and strategies to manage anxiety symptoms and improve their quality of life.

Tangled Minds Psychotherapy
Registered Psychotherapist, MA, RP, RCC
Anxiety is a normal part of the human experience, but it becomes a disorder when it begins to dictate how we live. We often find ourselves trapped in patterns of avoidance - changing our behaviors at work, with friends, or in our relationships just to escape uncomfortable feelings. When these patterns start shrinking your world, professional treatment becomes vital to help you reclaim your life.
Anxiety is a mismatch between our ancient "mid-brain" and our modern "pre-frontal cortex." Your brain’s threat detection system (the amygdala) is millions of years old and cannot always distinguish between a physical predator and an imagined catastrophe. When we visualize a stressful scenario, our body responds with a flood of adrenaline and cortisol as if the threat were real. This "evolutionary glitch" traps us in a loop where our brilliant imagination accidentally keeps our survival system in a state of constant, exhausting vigilance.
My approach to treatment targets the four stages of the anxiety response: Stimulus, Emotion, Cognition, and Behavior. We work to "down-regulate" your nervous system through physiological tools like structured breathing and sensory grounding. By strengthening your executive function through mindfulness, we build the "mental muscle" necessary to catch an anxiety spiral in real-time, allowing you to choose a new direction rather than falling back into old habits.
Effective therapy involves more than just insight; it requires action. We use Exposure Therapy and goal-setting to gradually face the things you’ve been avoiding, proving to your brain that you are capable of handling discomfort. We also integrate Self-Compassion and Mentalization to help you sit with difficult emotions without needing to "fix" or flee from them. By targeting thoughts, emotions, and behaviors simultaneously, we move away from short-term avoidance and toward a long-term, value-driven life.
Recovery from an anxiety disorder is significant work that involves re-patterning how your brain responds to stress. My role is to be your guide—teaching you the skills, helping you navigate the predictable pitfalls, and providing a safe space to process the roots of your pain. While there are no overnight fixes, these evidence-based interventions offer a clear, reliable path toward a life that is no longer defined by fear.

Registered Psychotherapist, M.Div in Clinical Counselling
Anxiety is a reaction to one's perceived threats. It is a reaction that causes a stress on our minds and bodies and can sometimes be debilitating. On the other hand, a little bit of anxiety can be helpful to protect us from danger and help us resolve problematic situations in one’s life.
My therapeutic approach is to help my clients understand the reason behind their anxiety while working together on acquiring the skills needed to manage such anxiety.

Registered Psychotherapist, RP, GIT.Dip, CAPT, CRPO
Anxiety and panic can feel overwhelming. It’s common to have busy, racing, or recurring thoughts, and anxiety can also show up in your body, your relationships, and your sense of self. Rather than trying to fix or control these experiences, I offer an embodied, relational approach that helps you understand what your anxiety might be communicating about how you’re doing in your current situation. Together, we explore how your responses developed, how they show up in your body and daily life, and what supports you in feeling more grounded, connected, and resourced. By slowing down and paying attention to your present-moment experience, you can begin to build awareness, self-trust, and a greater sense of choice. In time, anxiety can feel less like something you’re fighting against, and more like a companion whose challenge you can meet with support, understanding, and compassion.

Anxiety is a physiological response to fear and/or uncertainty or something that has happened in the past that gets projected into the future. One of the first things I suggest to my clients to do is to slow down; pause and take a breath as the awareness of the anxiety is the first step. Emma Seppala in her TED talk provides us with a exercise in breathing which helps us to do this; she uses breathing in her work to help Vietnam Veterans s to heal from the trauma of war. Other reference for anxiety is Elisha Goldstein Ph.D. Also Elissa Epel Deep Breathing.

Anxiety often feels like a constant, noisy background hum or a sharp, sudden alarm that keeps you in a state of high alert. In our work together, we don’t just aim to "quiet" these symptoms; we seek to understand the protective role they have played in your life. Using an IFS (Internal Family Systems) lens, we’ll get curious about the parts of you that feel overwhelmed by "what-ifs" or social dread. By integrating EMDR with a relational and psychodynamic approach, we work to "digest" the underlying experiences and old patterns that fuel chronic unease.
My goal is to provide a warm, empathetic space where we can unpack the origins of your fears and the impact they’ve had on your self-esteem. We will move at your pace to build internal safety and self-compassion, allowing you to move from a place of survival to one where you feel grounded, capable, and more fully connected to the present moment

Life can feel overwhelming when you’re carrying the weight of anxiety and fear on your own. My goal is to support you as I genuinely feel that everyone holds their own map to healing, however, many often need help navigating their path forward. Whether you’re also working on trauma recovery, healing from abuse, or working through the stages of grief, you don’t have to go through it alone. I am grateful to be that source of support for current and new clients. I help people create, enforce, and maintain boundaries that may have once felt impossible to implement, giving them space to feel safer, more empowered, and more connected to themselves and others. I work from an eclectic approach, believing there is no one-size-fits-all path to therapy. Together we can help you break free from limiting patterns and beliefs.

Anxiety is not a failure; it is your body trying to protect you. Together we notice how worry shows up in your thoughts, feelings, and habits, then build skills to respond on purpose. We use CBT to challenge unhelpful beliefs, emotion focused work to name and move through feelings, and simple body practices to settle the nervous system. When it fits, we can explore the roots of anxiety through an attachment based EFT lens and support deeper healing with IFS. Clinical hypnotherapy is also available for fears and phobias. We always go at your pace.
