It is so easy to feel stressed in this world: we are constantly busy and focused on something because we are so attuned to external cues about whether or not we are safe.
In my view, we develop stress due to our limiting belief systems. For example, we might assume that being busy equates to being successful, leading us to overwork to feel secure. We might believe we should be superwomen or supermen and, therefore, never ask for help, continually adding more to our lives. We may not believe we are good enough and, in striving for perfection, create significant stress for ourselves. These are just a few examples. Another reason we can become burnt out is if we lack compassion for ourselves and, as a result, don't take proper care of our well-being.
If you choose to work with me, we will explore the beliefs that create stress for you and help you overcome them. Together, we will learn new ways of being that invite ease and joy back into your life.

Stress manifests in many forms, either physically or emotionally, and can be detrimental to both our mental and physical health. We will work together to bring awareness to what is causing stress, looking at both internal factors – such as patterns of thought and behaviours – and external factors – such as work and financial. We will also develop strategies to help reduce stress and anxiety on a day-to-day basis.

Stress is a sign your system is working overtime—and it’s asking for support, not more pressure.
When life feels like too much and you’re constantly on edge, it’s often because parts of you are stuck in survival mode. Chronic stress can disconnect you from your body, drain your energy, and leave you feeling like you're just getting through the day. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic tools like TRE to help you understand the deeper layers beneath your stress and bring your nervous system back into balance. Together, we’ll create space for calm, clarity, and resilience—so you can move through life with more ease and intention.

Stress is something you need a bit of to function but too much, rapidly becomes a problem. Think of it as your body telling you you're doing something wrong. Let's see if we can figure out what that might be. I would like to meet with you to see what can be done to help you. This will enable us to get to know each other and see if we can work together. I assume Climate Anxiety is universally present in the collective unconscious. Joanna Macy has written: "Until the late twentieth century, every generation throughout history lived with the tacit certainty that there would be generations to follow. Each assumed, without questioning, that its children and children's children would walk the same Earth, under the same sky. Hardships, failures, and personal death were encompassed in that vaster assurance of continuity. That certainty is now lost to us, whatever our politics. That loss, unmeasured and immeasurable, is the pivotal psychological reality of our time."

In today’s fast-paced world, stress can feel like a constant companion—an ever-present hum in the background of our lives. From juggling work and family responsibilities to managing financial pressures and digital overload, it’s easy to feel overextended and under-resourced. As an Art and IFS (Internal Family Systems) Psychotherapist, my goal is to help you navigate this modern-day phenomenon by creating a safe, calming space where you can untangle the complexities of stress and learn new ways to manage it.
Through art therapy, we’ll give form to the thoughts and emotions that may feel too tangled or intense to express verbally. Using IFS, we can identify and understand the various parts of yourself that react to stress—those that try to protect you by urging you to push harder, and those that long for rest and relief. By approaching these parts with curiosity and compassion, we can begin to restore balance, reduce overwhelm, and foster resilience.
My aim is to support you in transforming stress from an unrelenting burden into a signal that guides you toward healthier boundaries, greater self-awareness, and more sustainable ways of living. You deserve to feel grounded and empowered in the face of life’s many demands, and I’m here to help you find your path forward.

Anxiety, Stress and Worry affects us all. We evolved to deal with occasional stressful threats--hence our "fight or flight" response. We did not evolve to deal with the increasing persistence and prevalence of stressful situations -- at home, in our communities, and workplaces. Anxiety about living with or after cancer invariably involves perceptions about what we imagine may happen. But the mind often has difficulty differentiating between what is real and what our imagination has created.
Fortunately there is a profusion of strategies for minimising stress and the effects of worry and anxiety, and my approaches involve building self-esteem up to previous levels, mindful mediation to enable you to take a step back from worrisome thoughts, rather than become subsumed by them, and helping you reorient locus of control so you are more in control of yourself, rather than delegating responsibility to external influences.

Stress often builds quietly - the endless alertness, the mind that won’t rest. Over time, even small moments feel heavy. In therapy, we slow the pace, study what’s driving the strain, and rebuild a sense of steadiness. The goal isn’t to eliminate pressure, but to move through it with clarity and calm.

Professional burnout, post-traumatic stress, interpersonal conflict - these are different examples of stressful experiences that can be of chronic and incredibly taxing nature. Some people lack a robust capacity to know their own limits and set boundaries; others find themselves in the midst of stressful life events (e.g. sudden illness of self or a loved one; loss of income and basic security; being subjected to discrimination, or any other form of maltreatment), and it becomes really hard to adapt and cope emotionally.
I offer a confidential space where we can think together about what has and is happening to you, how you experience it and what hinders you managing stress more sustainable way.

It is rare for adults and young people to be without stress in our society. A level of pressure may be helpful and motivating but unwanted stress can be crippling affect all aspects of our personal and work life. It is possibly to live without unwanted stress. 'All stress is created internally by our individual perceptions and negative emotions relating to our environment and our situation.' This is good news, because even if we cannot control everything in our external world it is possible for us to learn to control our internal thoughts and reactions.
