Andrea Elkon
Psychologist, Ph.D.
Asking for help is challenging enough, and I believe that the online format removes some of the other stressors normally associated with beginning therapy. One of the most important "ingredients" for success in therapy is feeling comfortable in the therapy setting. With online therapy, clients enjoy the convenience of meeting with me from wherever they feel most comfortable. Online therapy also eliminates the need for a commute to an office or sitting in a waiting area. With some of the stress eliminated, we can really get to work!

Sumer Statler Aeed
Psychologist, Licensed Psychologist
Telehealth psychology support for life adjustments, trauma, relationships, and body issues. With technology, you can experience all the benefits of in-person therapy in the comfort and privacy of your own home and have continuity of care when you travel. It can be especially helpful to those who find it challenging to travel to an office for appointments due to location, work, children at home, lifestyle, or other practical or personal reasons. You may be located abroad or be a professional who travels, telehealth allows you to get the support and resources and meet you where your life is at.
While there are multiple ways that counseling can take place online, I work primarily with face-to-face video conferencing via Zoom and, on occasion, telephone sessions.
I always hold my sessions in a quiet and confidential space, giving you the same confidentiality & professionalism that you experience within an office setting.
Most, if not all, of my clients, find virtual sessions to be highly effective and convenient. They allow for the comfort and safety of therapy in your own space, and no travel time is often less vulnerable than needing to go to an office. Research of multiple studies finds that online therapy is equally effective as in-person for most cases. That being said I always advocate for what works best for each individual and it is wonderful to have choices to find your best path whichever that may be.
If you are not tech-savvy or anxious about using technology, I'll make it as seamless as possible. I have chosen a platform that is easy to use, and I am happy to assist you with any questions or concerns.
A common concern I hear from clients regarding online therapy is finding a quiet and/or confidential space when you’re homebound with children, and/or family members or roommates. Please plan this out in advance so you have quiet and privacy during your session.
Since it is so convenient many times people forget to allow themselves a few minutes to "switch hats" and allow themselves a few breaths and get settled into being present and in the head/body space for your session.
Headphones or AirPods can often make audio clearer or provide more privacy, but are not necessary.
Given that video sessions can be conducted on your smartphone, clients have found it helpful to go to a park, connect from wherever you may be, and/or walk around your neighborhood. Get creative and support yourself. Find a private space that allows you to receive support no matter where you are.
You are welcome to have pets join your space if you find that comforting and supporting, and you may see my fellow feline/canine therapists join in one of our sessions on my end.

Psychologist, PsyD, HSPP
Hello, I'm Dr. Ruth Viehoff, and it's a pleasure to virtually meet you. I specialize in working with anxious overachievers, perfectionists, and adults with ADHD. My clients are often worriers and people who struggle to meet their own exacting standards, even though to an outsider's view, they may appear to have it all together. Often my clients are so concerned and caring towards others, but can struggle to care for themselves and advocate for their own needs. In therapy, we work to introduce self-compassion and shift personal standards that may get in the way of enjoying your life. While I'm physically located in Indianapolis, IN, the majority of my clients see me virtually. Whether you live in Indiana, New York, Massachusetts, or a participating Psypact state, I'd love to connect with you and help you to live a more authentic, embodied, and joyful life. Richmond is Virginia's state capital and a city confronting its identity as the former capital of the Confederacy — a historical weight that has made racial equity, community healing, and the legacy of slavery active and ongoing conversations in clinical, academic, and public life. The city's significant African American community, its rapidly growing Latino population, and a large university sector anchored by Virginia Commonwealth University collectively shape diverse and evolving therapy demand. VCU Health and Bon Secours Richmond Health System provide major institutional mental health resources, while VCU's extensive psychology, counseling, and social work programs supply significant clinical training to the community. Richmond's growing arts and creative economy, rapid gentrification of historically Black neighborhoods, and strong LGBTQ+ community each contribute distinct dimensions to its therapy culture.
