I believe that one of the bravest things you can do is to begin to understand your own story. From this understanding and processing of your unique story, you can let go of traumas that control you, anxiety and depression road blocks, bad relationships, and overall the emotional pain that may prevent you from living a happy and fulfilling life that gets you excited to wake up to everyday. I want you to be free of that pain so that you can find meaning, excitement, and purpose in work, friendships, relationships, family, and really ALL areas of your life. You DESERVE this and I'm here to help you on this healing journey you deserve! So what is it like working with me? Therapy should not be a one-sided conversation and I'm definitely not a smile-and-nod therapist. I want to work collaboratively WITH you and I can promise that I am as real as it gets. You may hear me swear (haha), laugh hard with you, and just be my authentic self. For you to be real with me, I also need to be real too! I will work hard with you and to HEAR and SEE you starting your journey of healing. I work with most mental health concerns and have specialize in trauma recovery, working with LGBTQ+ individuals, relationship counseling, college mental health, and ADHD and Autism assessment just to name a few. I can usually get you in same week. Check out my website and lets connect!

Dr. Amanda Malak

Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist
Adolescents and adults navigating their faith and sexuality (LGBTQ+ affirming), anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, grief, trauma, pregnancy/postpartum, family of origin concerns, identity development, and general life stressors and transitions would particular enjoy working with me. Multicultural couples and families navigating culture clashes, estrangement, faith transitions, and sexual and intergenerational trauma, especially for BIPOC populations, are treatment specialties. Psychedelic psychotherapy preparation and integration are also available with referrals to clinics and others who can provide medication administration. Psychological assessment to clarify diagnoses such as autism, bipolar disorder, ADHD, etc., Independent Medical Evaluations (IME), worker’s compensation, preemployment for first responders, and fitness-for-duty-evaluations are also offered. Approaching patients with cultural humility is a core value at Malak Psychology honoring who you are, your ancestors, and the indigenous land we occupy. Grounded in decolonizing mental health, liberation, and feminist psychologies, my practice employs multimodal approaches, including dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, cognitive processing therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, somatic experiencing, emotionally focused couples therapy, Gottman, family systems, psychoanalysis, and more. Empowering you to forge your unique path, I serve as a guide with an emphasis on agency and self-determination. Collaborative wellness plans allow participants to decide the depth of exploration into subjects. I ensure evidence-based, collaborative, and individualized care by incorporating peer-reviewed research and indigenous knowledge systems.

Seattle, Washington therapist: Melanie Carey, counselor/therapist
Feminist

Melanie Carey

Counselor/Therapist, LMHCA
I offer online therapy through secure telehealth for adults across Washington State. Sessions are held in a private, confidential virtual space where you can show up as you are, from the comfort of your own environment. My approach is gentle, relational, and body-based. Rather than rushing insight or focusing only on problem-solving, we slow down and listen to what your body is already holding. Using Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy alongside trauma-informed and psychodynamic approaches, therapy becomes a space where deeper healing can unfold — especially when talk therapy hasn’t fully reached the root. Online therapy works especially well for highly sensitive and creative clients, offering flexibility while still allowing for meaningful, embodied work. Many clients are surprised by how connected and grounded they feel, even through a screen. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, relational patterns, or creative blocks, this work supports you in reconnecting with your inner clarity, safety, and sense of aliveness.

Telehealth psychology support for life adjustments, trauma, relationships, and body issues. With technology, you can experience all the benefits of in-person therapy in the comfort and privacy of your own home and have continuity of care when you travel. It can be especially helpful to those who find it challenging to travel to an office for appointments due to location, work, children at home, lifestyle, or other practical or personal reasons. You may be located abroad or be a professional who travels, telehealth allows you to get the support and resources and meet you where your life is at. While there are multiple ways that counseling can take place online, I work primarily with face-to-face video conferencing via Zoom and, on occasion, telephone sessions. I always hold my sessions in a quiet and confidential space, giving you the same confidentiality & professionalism that you experience within an office setting. Most, if not all, of my clients, find virtual sessions to be highly effective and convenient. They allow for the comfort and safety of therapy in your own space, and no travel time is often less vulnerable than needing to go to an office. Research of multiple studies finds that online therapy is equally effective as in-person for most cases. That being said I always advocate for what works best for each individual and it is wonderful to have choices to find your best path whichever that may be. If you are not tech-savvy or anxious about using technology, I'll make it as seamless as possible. I have chosen a platform that is easy to use, and I am happy to assist you with any questions or concerns. A common concern I hear from clients regarding online therapy is finding a quiet and/or confidential space when you’re homebound with children, and/or family members or roommates. Please plan this out in advance so you have quiet and privacy during your session. Since it is so convenient many times people forget to allow themselves a few minutes to "switch hats" and allow themselves a few breaths and get settled into being present and in the head/body space for your session. Headphones or AirPods can often make audio clearer or provide more privacy, but are not necessary. Given that video sessions can be conducted on your smartphone, clients have found it helpful to go to a park, connect from wherever you may be, and/or walk around your neighborhood. Get creative and support yourself. Find a private space that allows you to receive support no matter where you are. You are welcome to have pets join your space if you find that comforting and supporting, and you may see my fellow feline/canine therapists join in one of our sessions on my end.

Ciera Coyan

Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
I'm Ciera, a sex and relationship therapist. Though I work with people from all walks of life, I specialize in working with people who have experienced religious harm, queer clients, and neurodivergent folks. My clients often find themselves feeling anxious, having trouble with relationships, and out of touch with their bodies. They're often very self-aware, but find that self-awareness isn't enough to actually create change. I work with my clients to help them heal from the harm they've experienced, better connect with the people in their life, make peace with their bodies, and leave shame in the past.

Seattle, Washington therapist: Vanessa Hooper, counselor/therapist

Vanessa Hooper

Counselor/Therapist, LMHC, PMH-C
Do you ever feel like you’re carrying too much, trying to hold it all together even when you’re running on empty? Perhaps you and your partner keep circling the same issues, unable to reach resolution, or maybe you’re struggling to confront trauma or how to be your authentic self. I’m a therapist who believes that healing happens in relationship when we feel safe enough to be seen and supported. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need a place that feels safe enough to be honest, and someone who gets that healing is messy, nonlinear, and deeply human. I work with individuals and couples who want something real, a space where you can show up as you are and start untangling what’s been weighing you down. Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about slowing down, finding your voice, and building a life that feels more connected and true to you.
