Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: My therapeutic approach is deeply inspired by my own journey through struggle and transformation. Because of this lived experience, combined with my clinical training, I offer a space that is both deeply empathetic and grounded in highly effective techniques. I draw from powerful, evidence-based frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness, and Inner Child/Parts Work. In practice, this means we will work on untangling the rigid thought and behaviour patterns holding you back, gradually confronting the fears that limit your world, offering care to the younger or wounded parts of yourself, and helping your body release stored stress so you can feel calmer and more present. I promise to be an engaged, passionate partner in this process, navigating the messy parts of life using directness, gentle compassion, or humour, whatever the moment calls for. The goal is to help you move from simply surviving on autopilot to genuinely experiencing your life.
