Kevin’s path to becoming a therapist wasn’t a straight line—it was a discovery of who he truly is and how he wants to contribute to the world. He initially followed the direction his parents encouraged, completing an undergraduate degree in psychology before moving into law. As a lawyer in a full-service firm, he found himself drawn not to the adversarial side of the work, but to the problem-solving, collaboration, and human connection that naturally unfolded when helping clients navigate difficult decisions. Over time, Kevin realized that the parts of law he loved most—listening, understanding, and working together toward solutions—were exactly the pieces that aligned with his values and strengths. He began to ask himself how can I make this the whole job? That question ultimately led him back to psychology, where a collaborative, solution-focused approach could become the foundation of his work. Therapy, he realized, was where he could fully lean into who he is: calm, thoughtful, curious, and deeply oriented toward helping people move forward with clarity. Kevin’s shift into couples counselling grew naturally out of his experience in divorce law. He often saw relationships break down not because of a lack of love, but because communication had eroded long before either partner sought help. Witnessing this was disheartening—it highlighted how many couples were struggling without support and how preventable many of those ruptures could have been. As a therapist, Kevin now has the opportunity to be on the other side of that process. Couples counselling allows him to help partners strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and rediscover connection before the relationship reaches a breaking point. It’s meaningful work that aligns with both his professional insight and his personal desire to help people stay connected rather than fall apart. Today, Kevin brings the best of both worlds—his background in psychology and his experience in law—into a grounded, practical, and deeply human therapeutic style. He is committed to creating a space where individuals and couples can understand themselves, improve their relationships, and navigate life’s complexities with confidence.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
Approach Description: My therapeutic style is integrative and tailored to each individual or couple. I utilize a lot of problem solving in my work and strongly believe in truth over comfort. Helping my clients explore blind spots and areas for growth, finding ways to move forward in a more helpful way. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – to help clients understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours interact, and to develop practical skills for meaningful change. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) – to support healing from past experiences that continue to shape current emotions, beliefs, and patterns. Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) – to help people understand their emotional cycles, build secure emotional bonds, and respond rather than react. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) – to help clients identify strengths, highlight what’s already working, and create small, achievable steps forward. Narrative Therapy – to explore and reshape the personal stories that influence identity, behaviours, and emotional patterns. Existential Approaches – to support clients in exploring meaning, freedom, responsibility, and authenticity in their lives. Attachment-Based Therapy – to understand relational patterns, emotional needs, and the ways early experiences shape connection and self-worth. Gottman Method strategies– offering research-backed tools for communication, emotional attunement, conflict resolution, and relationship enhancement. Across all modalities, I emphasize practical strategies, emotional insight, and a grounded therapeutic relationship. I believe real change develops through understanding, intention, and consistent support—and I strive to meet each client with empathy, respect, and a commitment to their growth. Whether you’re seeking support for personal challenges or looking to strengthen your relationship, I look forward to helping you create lasting, meaningful change and a life that feels more connected and fulfilling.
