Burnout doesn’t always look like exhaustion.

Samantha Duarte Therapy

Burnout doesn’t always look like exhaustion. Many people experiencing burnout are still showing up for work, caring for others, and getting through their day.

On the outside, they seem fine. Underneath, they may feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or unable to truly relax.

Common signs of burnout can include:

• Feeling constantly “on” or overwhelmed

• Increased irritability or frustration

• Difficulty slowing down or resting

• Emotional numbness or disconnection

• Constantly thinking about work or responsibilities

• Feeling like you’re running on autopilot Burnout is more than stress.

When your nervous system has been carrying too much for too long, it can become difficult to feel present, connected, and like yourself. I provide trauma-informed and somatic therapy for burnout, chronic stress, grief, and life transitions.

I work with adults across Ontario, including frontline workers, helping professionals, healthcare workers, social workers, caseworkers, and first-generation individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or disconnected from themselves.
