Romana Hrivnakova
Registered Psychotherapist, MA, RP, RCC
I view anger not as a character flaw, but as a protective survival strategy that is often trying to signal a boundary or manage deep-seated pain. Drawing on over 15 years of experience in high-intensity mental health settings, I help you move beyond traditional 'control' techniques to understand the 'parts' of you that feel the need to erupt or protect.
By exploring the roots of this frustration and healing the underlying wounds—often shaped by early relationships—we work to transform reactive anger into a healthy, grounded sense of self-advocacy and emotional calm.

While there are often mental components to anger you'll want to address with a talk therapist, there's also a physical component that we can work on using somatic approaches:
Out of control anger is often your nervous system's "fight" response kicking in so intensely that it's hard to keep your cool. Anger serves an important purpose, but we want to know that we can still stay connected to our best selves even while we are angry.
We can use body-focused techniques to be able to recognize when anger is about to kick in, and to teach your body new ways of responding to that anger. For example, you may find yourself saying to me "I noticed I was getting hot and agitated, so I excused myself for a couple minutes."
You may find yourself able to focus your energy much more quickly than you used to, to come back focused and goal oriented. You may still feel 'mad' but it may be anger that is working for you, in alignment with your values.

Counsellor/Therapist, MA CCC
Rather than trying to suppress your anger, we need to listen to what it is trying to tell us. Often it can be an indication that your boundaries are being crossed or your values are being undermined. Together we can get to the bottom of where your anger is coming from.

Anger is a beautiful, often tender, emotion. It's intention is to protect us and it 'comes out' when we feel threatened. Learning how to control our own anger is vital and I would love to help you find this.

Birgit Schreiber Dr
Psychologist, PhD and MA in Psychology
Anger Management can be learnt - we will examine your triggers and how to recognise early signs. And most importantly, we will explore what the source is. Anger can be internal or expressed, and we will find ways to uncover and resolve the triggers, the feelings and ultimately find a way to understand the drivers.

Natalia Vyzhol
Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Psychotherapist
I specialize in helping individuals navigate anger with greater awareness, control, and compassion. Anger is not just a reaction—it’s often a signal from deeper emotional layers. My approach focuses on understanding these signals and transforming reactive patterns into intentional, responsive choices.
Using a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based techniques, I guide the process of:
• Recognizing early signs and triggers of anger
• Practicing effective de-escalation strategies
• Strengthening communication and boundary-setting skills
• Building emotional resilience and self-awareness
• Exploring the deeper beliefs and unmet needs beneath anger
This work isn’t about suppressing emotion—it’s about learning to listen, respond, and grow. Whether the challenge stems from workplace stress, relationship tension, or internal frustration, sessions offer a safe space to explore and shift the patterns that no longer serve.
Individual, couples, and group sessions are available for those seeking to develop healthier emotional regulation and a more empowered relationship with anger.

François Lacharité
Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, EP L1
I support clients in exploring the emotions behind anger, noticing how it shows up in the body and relationships. Together, we learn to respond rather than react, cultivating self-acceptance, presence, and healthier ways to express yourself without losing connection with yourself or others.

Anger Management: Transforming YOUR Reactivity
Shifting from Reactive to Proactive Parenting
Anger, exasperation, and overwhelm are common for mothers of teenagers, yet they often lead to guilt and disconnection. My approach focuses on transforming YOUR reactivity as a mother by mastering your internal response through somatic awareness.
Together, we work to:
Decode YOUR inner compass: Slow down to identify the physical sensations—the "vibration"—of anger before it turns into a reaction.
Release the tension: Recognize when your body wants to tighten up and learn to simply release and breathe through the moment.
Move toward the emotion: Instead of trying to "get rid" of your anger, we learn to meet it with an open heart, knowing you can handle the intensity.
This is a process—like peeling an onion—where you uncover your triggers. By transforming your reactivity, you reclaim the power to lead with peace and clarity, regardless of the challenges your teen brings home.

Anger can sometimes feel like it takes over before you have a chance to choose how you want to respond. In therapy, we can explore what sits underneath anger, including stress, fear, shame, hurt, trauma, or unmet needs. I help clients build awareness of their triggers, strengthen emotional regulation, and respond to difficult situations in ways that feel more grounded and aligned with their values.

Do you constantly feel on edge or overwhelmed? Many of us grow up learning to push down our thoughts and feelings. We may have been told our anger is unacceptable, sadness is a weakness, or vulnerability should be avoided. However, these emotions are natural and valuable to personal growth and self-understanding. It is what we do with these feelings when they show up that makes all the difference. Together, we can process your experiences with the intention, so you can be more in control and feel lighter. You feel things deeply for a reason, let’s explore why and what now.

Marriage and Family Therapist, Marriage, Couples, LMFT. Psy.D. Trauma-Focused CBT
Anger is a human emotion. Anger management involves boundaries for self and for others. Often times, when we feel anger, it is our own personal emotion which can be directed to someone else, often tied to a person very close to us. It is important to reduce the hostility, finding a calmer direction as anger can often be faced with heart issues as well as, blurring thoughts causing self internal pain .
