Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities. I often use Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, while mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies support emotional regulation and present-moment awareness. I also incorporate Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and attachment-focused approaches to explore relational dynamics, strengthen interpersonal connections, and support deeper emotional healing.

My Therapy Clinic strives to provide a therapeutic service that is tailored and personalized to your needs. The therapeutic approach combines structured, skills-based interventions along with a more flexible, exploratory approach ensuring that treatment meets your individual needs. Many of my clients come to therapy looking for ways to break cycles of rumination, overthinking, and intellectualizing, while others are seeking skills to strengthen communication, navigate interpersonal stress, managing conflict, or build resilience in the face of modern relationship challenges. I see clients who experience generalized anxiety, low mood, social anxiety and panic, as well as obsessive-compulsive disorder and ruminative or obsessive thinking patterns. I also work with trauma-related difficulties, depression and low mood, challenges with self-esteem and confidence, and the impact that these struggles can have on relationships and quality of life.
