Masha Andreeva
Registered Psychotherapist, HonBA, DTATI, RP
Art therapy provides a gentle yet powerful way to navigate depression by offering a space for self-expression, exploration, and reconnection. When words feel inaccessible, the creative process can help externalize emotions, uncover underlying patterns, and cultivate a sense of meaning and agency. Through imagery, color, and symbolic expression, you can safely process emotions, shift perspective, and reconnect with your inner vitality. My approach integrates mindfulness and body-based practices, supporting you in moving through stuck emotions and fostering a greater sense of presence, self-compassion, and possibility.

Embark on a transformative journey to break free from the grips of depression with my client-centred approach that acknowledges both the chemical and behavioural dimensions of this relentless mental health challenge. In my over two decades of experience, encompassing more than 17,000 hours of direct client contact, I have dedicated myself to unravelling the complexities of depression.

Selah Counselling, Mediation, and Training Center
Registered Social Worker, BSW, MSW, RSW
If you are experiencing depression, you may feel heavy, unmotivated, or disconnected from the things that once mattered to you. Even simple tasks can feel overwhelming. You might struggle with low energy, changes in sleep or appetite, negative thoughts about yourself, or a sense of hopelessness that is difficult to explain.
At Selah Counselling, we approach depression with compassion and steadiness. We understand that depression can be influenced by many factors, including life stress, loss, trauma, nervous system dysregulation, and biological components. Together, we gently explore what may be contributing to your experience while building practical tools to support mood, structure, and regulation. Our work focuses on restoring rhythm to your days, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, and reconnecting you to meaning and supportive relationships. The goal is not quick relief alone, but sustainable change that helps you feel more present, more hopeful, and more engaged in your life again.

Since I am not a licensed therapist, I'm not allowed to diagnose conditions such as Depression. This is a term that is often thrown around quite readily and clients often state they suffer from depression, whether or not they have been formally diagnosed by a therapist in the past. Generally, it is a rather broad diagnosis covering a wide range of behaviors. For hypnotists, many of these behaviors are simply a negative habit of mind that we can change, neutralizing many of the past traumas that have led to their problems. I have worked with many such clients, however. In many cases my clients have been in therapy for years, even decades, and while they understood the roots of their feelings, they got no relief. One of my earliest clients was a woman who suffered tremendous emotional abuse as a child and grew up with a crushing feeling of worthlessness. She became grossly overweight and worked at menial jobs her whole life, unable to form any successful and satisfying relationships. Through hypnosis, she was able to lose 170 pounds and after one session focused on her past trauma, she was so lightened of her lifelong burden of self loathing that she practically floated out of my office and she insisted on paying me double my fee. She has been free of her burdens now for 5 years and comes in once a year for a refresher session. I have had many such results in my practice.
