Daniel McNulty
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LMSW
In my practice, I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to help clients identify and modify maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors contributing to anger issues. Additionally, I incorporate Accelerated Resolution Therapy to address underlying traumas or emotional triggers that fuel intense anger reactions. By integrating Mindfulness-Based approaches and Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques, I support clients in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation skills, and healthier coping mechanisms to manage anger more effectively.

Eric Weinstein
Life Coach, Hypnosis and NLP, shamanic healing, Energy Psychology (including "tapping"), Voice Dialogue
I understand anger, the effect it has on one’s life, and how it affects the people around you. When clients see me as a peaceful guy, they’re seeing the result of a lot of healing work (with more to do).
I’ve had considerable success helping clients with anger problems, perhaps because I believe anger management is secondary to healing. I believe most people who are angry are like volcanos. Even though the anger that shows on the surface in the present is hot enough to burn the client and everyone around him or her, there’s even more heat and energy “under ground” – in the past.
So I usually focus on healing the past first – without having to spend a lot of time talking about it. Once that unresolved pain and anger is mostly dissolved, clients don’t get triggered as easily or as forcefully.
The next focus is on reducing everyday frustrations. When the little things don't bug you as much, you'll be cooler under pressure and when bigger problems come up. , and have enough presence of mind to use anger management tools instead of losing control.
Note: I don’t do court-mandated anger management. If you live in Fairfax County, call my colleague Gary Niki at 202-241-0944.

Marnie Kahn
Counselor/Therapist, LCPC, HeartMath Certified Practitioner
Anger can be extremely destructive, not only physically, but it can destroy inner peace, balance and a sense of well being in one's life.
I use Acceptance Commitment Therapy with anger as it teaches individuals how to practice mindfulness in the moment, accepting the thoughts and feelings that are present, as they will pass as long as you remain mindful and aware of the values that are important to you.
I teach individuals how to use HeartMaths Quick Coherence Technique to shift from anger or frustration to a more coherent state of ease. The heart is negatively impacted by stress, anger and frustration, but can be shifted with intentional positive emotions, creating clarity, coherence and insights of the heart.

Washington Psychological Wellness
Counselor/Therapist
Anger is a normal, healthy emotion that can be used to communicate important boundaries and needs. Anger becomes unhealthy when it reaches a level of an out-of-control and all-consuming rage. Maladaptive anger can have a lasting detrimental impact on one’s relationships, work, and overall mental well-being. At Washington Psychological Wellness, our therapists work to help you understand the core mechanisms of your anger. Often, anger is a manifestation of a repressed feeling, such as deep sadness or shame. Your therapist will provide you the safe space needed to process, explore, and work through your anger to eventually replace learned maladaptive emotional dysregulation patterns with more adaptive ways of communicating. We aim to teach emotional regulation and adaptive communication patterns. Washington Psychological Wellness is currently accepting new clients. Telehealth (online) therapy services are available.
