I believe that one of the bravest things you can do is to begin to understand your own story. From this understanding and processing of your unique story, you can let go of traumas that control you, anxiety and depression road blocks, bad relationships, and overall the emotional pain that may prevent you from living a happy and fulfilling life that gets you excited to wake up to everyday. I want you to be free of that pain so that you can find meaning, excitement, and purpose in work, friendships, relationships, family, and really ALL areas of your life. You DESERVE this and I'm here to help you on this healing journey you deserve! So what is it like working with me? Therapy should not be a one-sided conversation and I'm definitely not a smile-and-nod therapist. I want to work collaboratively WITH you and I can promise that I am as real as it gets. You may hear me swear (haha), laugh hard with you, and just be my authentic self. For you to be real with me, I also need to be real too! I will work hard with you and to HEAR and SEE you starting your journey of healing. I work with most mental health concerns and have specialize in trauma recovery, working with LGBTQ+ individuals, relationship counseling, college mental health, and ADHD and Autism assessment just to name a few. I can usually get you in same week. Check out my website and lets connect!

Good therapy is a partnership between you and your therapist. If you're ready to finally figure out why you've been struggling and do something about it, then you bring the expertise on your own life, experiences, and needs, and I'll bring evidence-based training, clinical experience, and a safe space to hold your hardest moments. I have deep respect for the individuals I work with, and am consistently amazed by the level of vulnerability, insight, and growth they are able to achieve when we work together in this way. You are a unique individual with unique life experiences and I meet you right where you are and work with you to determine how to move forward as your healthiest, most fulfilled self. Most clients find virtual therapy to be the same or better than in person therapy. Virtual sessions allow you to easily work around your job commitments or childcare, and by eliminating the commute it is easier to find the time to have sessions. You have the convenience of working with a fully licensed, highly trained therapist in your home or office, and by using secure video chatting you are still able to maintain confidentiality and the visual experience of being in person. After the initial assessment, if virtual therapy is not the right fit for you, we will help you find an in-person option.

I currently offer online therapy through my solo practice. Unlike many corporately-owned platforms, I can assure you that no one has access to your data to sell to marketers or develop AI tools. Online therapy has been shown to be equally effective as in-person therapy, although some people prefer one over the other. You may find online therapy especially helpful if you are located in a rural area or otherwise have reduced access to providers, or if you have physical limitations, transportation issues, long work hours, or caregiving responsibilities that make it challenging to get to in-person appointments. Some people feel more comfortable meeting online when they have anxiety about leaving home or meeting new people, and virtual therapy can be a good way to transition to engaging more with the world. The biggest challenge for online therapy is making sure you have a private, quiet space to hold your session. I can help you figure out ways to create the best environment for our meetings, and I try to create a friendly and relaxed environment for our call, while maintaining the reflective space of a therapy office. Pets are always welcome and often seem to drop by during sessions! Some people prefer phone or audio only for their sessions, and that's fine too as long as we have one or two video sessions first.

I believe that at our heart each and everyone of us is good. I believe that we are all doing the best that we can no matter what that looks like. Somewhere along the line we get convinced that we are lazy or bad or not trying hard enough and just believing that about ourselves really gets in our way. I want to help people see themselves the way I see them.

I provide individual telehealth therapy for folx in North Carolina and South Carolina so you can get real support (with cussing, reality checks, and good vibes) from the comfort of your own space. As a nonbinary, queer therapist, I specialize in gender-affirming therapy and work primarily with LGBTQ+ clients navigating identity exploration, dysphoria, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship patterns, while also supporting folks through anxiety, life transitions, PTSD, and CPTSD. My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and fully tailored to you, because therapy doesn’t work without a solid relationship and you shouldn’t dread it more than a cavity filling. I also provide gender-affirming surgery letters through a collaborative, non-gatekeeping process. Therapy with me is honest, affirming, and not cookie-cutter — we might be doing parts work one session, boundary-setting the next, unpacking internalized bullshit through a feminist lens, or just sitting together while you process what the hell is going on. You’re not a worksheet or a diagnosis, you’re a human, and I’m going to treat you like one.

Sometimes we long for a change, have parts of ourselves we wish to share with others, overcome the impact of disturbing experiences, or crave better connections. Achieving change can be difficult to do alone and confusing about where or how to start. Therapy provides a space where we consider your unique goals and help you find a path forward that is inclusive of your needs and your whole self. Who you are and where you come from has influenced you and how you view your world. It is my role to assist you in understanding the impact of this history without judgment or criticism. We will consider how various experiences have impacted you, while also identifying strengths and resources you want to use your strengths to move forward in your life. We'll actively collaborate to help you move forward.

Online therapy is such a wonderful opportunity to do deep and powerful therapeutic work in a way that is both convenient and secure. I want all my clients, online and in person, to feel the same warmth and compassion as we work through situations and experiences. In much of the same way that we do in person, my online work is based around building a supportive therapeutic relationship. In therapy, potential for healing and growth occurs through through the relationship that we build together. I really enjoy working with clients who are trying to figure out how to manage or explore the difficult feelings – sometimes anxiety and depression - that can emerge during self-exploration, identity development, life changes, working on relationship issues among monogamous and poly/ENM/CNM people, career or work shifts, LGBTQIA+ clients, and so much more. Work with me often involves exploring patterns, looking at the imprints of families of origin, and addressing ways in which those long past experiences come up in the present.

Since the pandemic shook our world and the experience of how we connect with others, I have been practicing remotely. I have found that teletherapy has been as effective as meeting in person in terms of relationship building, creating a safe space, and communicating openly, honestly, and directly. For many clients with busy lives, online therapy reduces the obstacles of travel, traffic, and parking, and provides a simple way of managing billing/payment.
