What to Expect in an Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Session

Brent Peak

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a structured, calming way to help the brain process difficult memories and emotional triggers without retelling the trauma in detail. During an ART session, you briefly bring a problem to mind while following gentle left-to-right eye movements. This helps the brain lower the intensity of the memory and update the emotional response attached to it.

The process also includes creating new, healthier imagery so that the memory no longer feels overwhelming. Many clients at North Valley Therapy notice meaningful improvement after their first ART session, especially when working on a specific memory or emotional pattern.
