Men's Issues

Gal Zohar

Registered Psychotherapist, M.Ed.
Many men grow up feeling pressure to stay composed, independent, or emotionally contained, making it difficult to open up or know how to process what they’re carrying. Therapy offers a space where you don’t have to perform, shut down, or “have it all figured out.” Together, we’ll explore patterns around emotions, relationships, vulnerability, self-worth, and identity in a way that feels supportive, honest, and nonjudgmental. My approach focuses on helping you better understand yourself, strengthen emotional awareness, and build more fulfilling connections with yourself and others.

For many men, the pressure to always appear strong, successful, and completely in control comes at a massive personal cost. On paper, you may be the reliable anchor for everyone else—taking care of business, navigating career demands, and managing relationship strains. But privately, holding yourself to these relentless standards leaves you feeling profoundly lonely, exhausted, and stuck with a silent sense of low mood or anxiety. Society often tells men to push through the stress, causing you to disconnect from your own body and your true direction.I provide a dedicated, non-judgmental space specifically tailored to navigating men’s issues, high-achievement burnout, and major life hardships. In our sessions, we drop the expectation to "fix" everything instantly and instead look collaboratively at what is happening beneath the surface. We utilize Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to untangle unhelpful patterns, tame a loud inner critic, and build practical, everyday mindset tools.Because men often internalize stress as physical tension, chronic fatigue, or irritability, we go beyond traditional talk therapy. We integrate somatic tools, breathing techniques, and visual exercises alongside neuro-experiential tools like Brainspotting. This allows us to safely bypass the analytical mind, helping your nervous system process and release the hidden emotional material, self-doubt, or unspoken grief you’ve been hanging onto for years. Whether you are navigating a divorce, a career transition, or a total loss of direction, you don't have to carry the weight alone. Together, we will build a more intentional, resilient, and grounded path forward.

Many men have learned to manage difficult experiences by pushing through, staying strong, or keeping things to themselves. Together, we can build greater self-understanding, emotional confidence, and more meaningful ways of relating to yourself and others.

I am a human being, devoted to personal growth, equality and justice. I'm also a woman who may be able to bring a fresh perspective to men's issues. I specialize in supporting men as they navigate the unique challenges of masculinity, emotional expression, and life transitions. Drawing on acceptance and commitment approaches, we clarify your personal values and build the courage to live by them. Mindfulness practices help you connect with and regulate emotions, while parts work unpacks internal conflicts fueled by cultural expectations of strength. I blend in cognitive and emotion-focused techniques to challenge unhelpful beliefs and process deep feelings, and, when appropriate, spiritual/existential approaches to connect with a deeper sense of purpose. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can rediscover authenticity, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Half of my practice is with male clients and many of the issues they come to me for might be characterized as "male" issues. I do a lot of work around male sexual concerns such as Erectile Dysfunction, Premature Ejaculation, and other sexual issues. According to research as much as 70% of these issues are the result of anxiety, emotional issues, mental blocks rather than physical problems. Many of my clients have been to doctors and therapists, or different types of alternative practitioners without getting relief. I can usually resolve their issue in one or two sessions. I also work with many men who struggle with relationship problems, emotional issues with their partners, loss and grief stemming from a breakup or death.
