Christian-informed Counselling

CHRISTIAN COUNSELLING

Christian counseling is a form of counselling that applies Christian faith into addressing mental and emotional aspects of a person, as well as spiritual ones. In other words, Christian counselling recognises the importance of the mind, body and soul.

Christian counselling does not rely, purely, on scriptural references and Christian tradition; it investigates the impact of sin, redemption and forgiveness. The perception of an afterlife eases the behavioural change and modification throughout the process.

In this type of counselling the client should expect what should be expected by any type of counselling, anyway:

  • non-judgemental interaction

  • empathy

  • respect

  • love

  • compassion

  • active listening

  • patience

  • No need to feel you have to ‘perform’

  • Reminding of hope, which is fundamental in Christian faith
